Deja Vu - part2

Raven Roth ((Flashback))

    I walked down the hall with a new book in hand. I was in and unnaturally good mood. We had gotten back from Tokyo about a month ago, Robin's and Starfire's relationship had bloomed into something amazing, and sickeningly sweet for my tastes.  I didn't think it wouldn't be long before Robin popped the question on the alien princess. Cyborg's been keeping himself busy with the T-car, He would never admit it to anyone but he had been hooking up with Bumble Bee. He developed feelings for her but she didn't feel the same, so they ended their flings. Adding enhancements to the T-Car and his other gadgets helped him cope with that. And for me? Well Garfield and I went to the movies a few times.  happy lovey dovey wasn't really my thing, but with Gar it could be…

    It seems the whole town had been changed when we got back.  New buildings and the old ones were missing. It was a little hard to get around for a while. Garfield kept disappearing throughout the first month though. Where could he be going? I would read him and his emotions, but sense we seemed to have something I didn't want to betray his trust.

    Well I got to my room and walked in, new book still in hand. I sat and started reading. I didn't get far before I sensed Garfield outside my door. I thought he was going to stop by and say hi, but he just kept going. I couldn't help it and read his emotions. He was sneaking around, but why. He felt guilt, excitement, and more guilt. I snuck out into the hall way and followed in his shadows. He looked nice in a pair of dark jeans and a white band t-shit that clung to all the right areas. Cyborg stepped out into Garfield's path.

    "Don't do it." Was all he said, his arms crossed over his large metal chest.

    "I have to Cy! Don't you understand?" Garfield looked pretty upset.

    "You know it will kill Raven the second she finds out!" Cyborg looked super pissed.

    If I found out what? What is going on here?

    "If she finds out..." Garfield said it under his breath, so low I barley heard it.

    It pissed me off that he was planning on hiding something from me! I guess Cyborg heard also heard him. "What is your problem dude!? Raven doesn't deserve to be lied to!"

    I really wanted to make myself visible to them and question it all but I knew that wouldn't get me any answers and I wanted to know what Garfield would hide from me.

    "I know she doesn't! But I can't just get over Terra so easily either!"

    ….Terra. He was still seeing Terra?! Right after we got back he claimed to have seen her but she forgot her memory. "And why would you be hiding something about Terra from me?" I asked bitterly and walked around the corner into the two buddies. Both jumped a good 3 feet into the air surprised. I crossed my arms over my chest and raised an eyebrow.  "Well?"

    "Well Rae, you see-"

    "Rae-ven." I emphasized each part.

    "Raven, Terra has been slowly remembering things. So I've been helping her…" Garfield heart rate sped up.

    "And that's all?" I asked

    Garfield swallowed then answered "Yes."

    But he was lying. I did nothing but watched him. I thought there was something. I read his emotions about Terra. She was his first real girl and I needed to accept that, but what I just couldn't accept was that In his mind I got a very clear signal saying they had kissed recently. I shook my head. "Did you know…?" I started quietly "You should never lie to an Empath!" my voice rose with each word. I flew off in a raven shaped black energy. I grabbed what meant most to me and left the Titan's tower. And I never came back.



Garfield Logan ((present))

    I reached the small house. It was pretty nice, Raven did well for herself. Should I knock on the door? Maybe not. I looked at the time. It's already 11:13; maybe I should wait until tomorrow.

    I started walking away, but a memory came into my head… ((flash back))

    I rushed after Raven; I prayed she would forgive me. She had to forgive me! I knocked on her door, no answer. I rest my overhead against the keypad and to my surprise it opened. I walked in. Most of the things were in their place, except Raven's closet was now empty, her books all gone.  Raven had left the tower!

    ((Present)) I couldn't bare the thought of walking in and finding Raven gone once again with no trace. I rushed back to the door and started knocking.

    I was about to just walk in when she opened the door. Her hair was long; it fell in silk like waves around her face. She looked tired, she was wearing a large t-shirt to sleep in and that was all. I couldn't help but be distracted by her long legs coming out the bottom.

    "What do you want Garfield its 11 o'clock!" I heard something crash in the house and Raven turned walked away and came back with something in her arms. It was, to my surprise, a longhaired calico cat.

    "You got a cat!" I said reaching out to scratch behind the cat ears. It gave me a bored look then rubbed against Raven's chest purring.

    "More like he found me." Raven said patting the creature affectionately. Then as if remembering it was me at the door she turned and put the cat on the ground and turned stiff. "What do you want from me Garfield?"

    "I wanted to make sure you were okay." My words meant more than just seeing her bent over by her car earlier, they also meant from when she found out I was seeing Terra while I was sort of dating her.

    "Well I'm fine and obviously I'm obviously doing well" She gestured to the house.

    "That's good…" Things were strange between us. For me there were old feelings stirring up all over again, I didn't know what she felt but I knew she wasn't too happy. I noticed a penny on a small silver chain that hung around her neck. "I like your necklace." I said awkwardly.

    She quickly clutched at it. "Maybe you should go…" her voice trembled a bit.

    "Could I say with you?" I asked before I could think better of it. "I don't really have a place to stay and I don't want to go looking for a hotel at midnight." I gave her a crooked smile.

    Raven sighed. "Fine whatever, you can stay on the couch and then leave tomorrow." She opened the door and I walked in. The front room had a decent sized red leather couch. She walked to a closet and opened the door. She reached up to grab blankets and a pillow and her shirt road up. I got a nice view at her ass in some lacy lingerie, I felt lust spike in me immediately. She quickly turned and threw an old quilt at me along with a pillow.

    "I'm an Empath, I can read your emotions." She said.

     I knew she had picked up on the lust, and I blushed. "Sorry."

    She walked into the other room and her cat followed. I tried hard not to think too much about Raven and how I felt about her, it was a small miracle that I managed. The whole place smelled like lavender and Raven. I curled up on the couch and tried to go to sleep.
